LOCAL NON-PROFIT
The Humane Society for Greater Savannah (HSGS) has been dedicated to improving the lives of pets and people for over 55 years. Founded by local animal lovers, HSGS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit supported entirely through private donations, grants, special events, and proceeds from the “Pick of the Litter” Thrift Shop.
HSGS is committed to saving every animal’s life whenever possible. Pets remain available for adoption as long as necessary, and none are euthanized for space. In 2021, HSGS achieved a 99.36% save rate, finding loving homes for 2,655 pets.
As a Best Friends no-kill shelter, HSGS carefully tracks the health and adoption status of every animal to ensure that every outcome matters.
